Denver City Heritage Museum: For history buffs, the Denver City Museum offers a plethora of cultural and civic history dating back to the founding of Denver City and the first discovery of oil in Yoakum County. Museum hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 1-4. Private tours available.
West Texas Lifestyle & Rehab: For those with fitness in mind, WTLR offers state of the art equipment, raquetball courts, swimming pool and trainers on staff.
Denver City Youth Center: For kids 6-12, the Youth Center offers fun for the kids and peace of mind for the parents.
Denver City Senior Citizens: A hot meal and dominoes! What could be better?

Yoakum County Watermelon Roundup: Slated the Saturday before Labor Day every year, the Watermelon Roundup draws crowds from afar. Enjoy free, sweet watermelon, two stages of area bands, arts & crafts booths, car show, kid's activities and great fair food.

Summer Recess: Supervised Indoor Play Program- Mon-Fri. June 3 – July 19 Highland Junior High: 2500 N. Jefferson 7:30a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Additional information is at hobbnm.org.
Splash Camp: Splash Camp will be held June17-21 and July 15-19 at Del Norte Pool. This week long camp is open to all 5-8 year olds. Cost is $25.00 per child. Daily programming includes water games, playground activities, and arts & crafts. Children are supervised by aquatic staff from 1:00 p.m. –3:30 p.m. Each day children must bring a snack, swimsuit, towel, dry clothes,and shoes for playground activities.
Movies Under the Stars: Friday Eveningsthrough out the Summer beginning with the Last Friday in May. Grab your lawn chair or blanket and head out to Del Norte Park this summer for the Parksand Recreation Department’s Movies Under the Stars. The movies will be shown on a 45 foot inflatable screen. Concessions will be available. All movies are sure to bring the families out for a great night under the stars. Movies will begin at dusk.

Located just 192 miles west of Denver City, there are always things to do in the beautiful resort Village of Ruidoso, New Mexico — hiking, horseback riding, museums, concerts, dining, shopping, casinos — attractions for everyone! If your destination is Ruidoso, New Mexico and the cool Sacramento mountains, your quickest route will lead you through Denver City, Texas! Just take Highway 214 North from Denver City traveling to Plains, Texas. At Plains, turn left (West) on US 380 and continue your travel through Tatum, New Mexico, Roswell, New Mexico, and your final destination of Ruidoso.
